What is an NFT?

An NFT — a non-fungible token — is a record on the blockchain that says who owns a particular digital item and who created it.

The idea covers a lot of ground. An NFT can be a piece of digital art, a ticket to a private club, an item inside a game, a domain name, a Telegram username or gift, or proof of ownership of something in the real world. What they have in common is that ownership is public, verifiable and transferable.
